Thanks for indicating an interest in volunteering to help make Delaware the "First State" in the American Local History Network as well as First State of the Nation. Volunteers are the grassroots of every organization.
You are needed if you have an interest and some available information about the history, traditions and genealogy of a particular area of the State. The state and local governments do a good job of promoting tourism and business, but what is needed is a more personal touch about the people who have made their homes here and raised their families.
If you have access to genealogical records, family histories, cemetery lists, deeds, even anecdotes, legends and things of that sort, you can be of great help to fellow researchers whose families started in Deleware, but subsequently moved north, west and south, across the United States and Canada.
To be a good volunteer, a lively interest is the most important ingredient. The need to be able to manage your own site, write some HTML code, and respond to inquiries, are also important requirements.
If you would like to be a Webmaster for one of the counties or towns, A.L.H.N. has Information available for new webmasters that you may find helpful.
As has been said before, in the final analysis, all history is local.
Like you, I'm a volunteer.
We need you. I hope you'll join us.
